Meet Beletu…

…a twenty-five-year-old mother of two from a village in South Gondar, Ethiopia, whose life was transformed by YOU!

Join our list for more stories like this

These stories illustrate the happiness and hope that the people in the villages we serve experience when their lives are transformed by the construction of an easily accessible clean water system. Behind these heartwarming tales is each and every one of you who graciously and tirelessly donate. Thank you!

Imagine living without access to a single drop of water for an entire day – no water to drink, wash your hands, or use the restroom. Now, picture having to walk several miles each day, carrying a heavy container on your back, just to fulfill this fundamental need for your family. Unfortunately, this is the harsh reality faced by thousands of women and girls in rural Ethiopia. Many of them are forced to give up their education or never have the chance to attend school, all to ensure their families have water. Tragically, the water they fetch is often contaminated with waterborne diseases that claim the lives of their young siblings.

Stream of Hope is on a mission to change that.

Recognition Corner

Awards and recognitions are our opportunities to honor and celebrate the men, women, youth, businesses, and organizations in our community that have greatly impacted Stream of Hope Inc. and continue to do so as we strive to change lives in rural Ethiopia.

We are honored to have been chosen as ESFNA most recognized charity organization of 2022. Our sincere appreciation to the Ethiopian Sports Federation in North America for organizing such a memorable event.

Stream of Hope Inc. and its members would like to express our gratitude to the countless attendees that stopped at our booth to listen to our story. Your generous donations will enable us to go far on our mission of providing clean drinking water and sanitation to rural Ethiopian villages.

Access to clean water improves the health of families and children, keeps girls in school, and gives people back their time lost collecting water. It brings hope and a bright future to under-served communities in Ethiopia. Thank you for joining us in the mission to empower the leaders of tomorrow.

Toyota of Rockwall & Captain Abiy Makonnen

World Youth Foundation & Ms. Karen Franklin

WYF has inspired us for over 20 years now. Stream of Hope Inc. has benefited from its association with WYF.

Ms. Karen Franklin of WYF has been a prominent partner as we aspire to create many self-sufficient young women in rural Ethiopia.

You are the Hero that many young people will view as the guiding light to a better future!

Meron Tamrat

Over the years, Meron has continued to stand for women and girls in rural Ethiopia, whose lives are negatively affected by the lack of access to clean water.  She has given generously , and motivated others around her in this task of providing clean water and sanitation to communities in dire need.

Stream of Hope Inc would like to express its gratitude to Meron Tamrat for the joy that her giving brings to many women and girls.  She gives without hesitation and with her kindness she inspires and guides her generation to be part of the solution.

Phoebe Hailu and Abel Tamrat

Phoebe and Abel have been diligent supporters of Stream of Hope Inc. since their college years.  They helped create awareness among family and friends about the lack of access to clean water in rural communities in Ethiopia.

They showed exemplary generosity and thoughtfulness.  We at Stream of Hope greatly appreciate their support over the years.  We would like to express our heartfelt admiration for helping us accomplish our mission to change lives in rural Ethiopia.

Yonas Eshetu

Yonas has been one of Stream of Hope’s strong supporters since the inception of the organization. His unwavering commitment to helping our organization provide clean water for Ethiopian villagers, and his creative and longtime technical support enabled the organization to be more effective. Yonas’ uncompromising approach to high-quality performance helped Stream of Hope achieve higher standards. Yonas’ financial contribution has impacted young people in rural Ethiopia.   Today we honor Yonas for taking a stand for hundreds of thousands of women and young villagers who are suffering from a lack of clean water and proper sanitation in rural Ethiopia.

Going beyond wells & spring expansion

Now, envision resolving that problem with simple yet effective water systems. Stream of Hope water projects have the power to transform the lives of entire villages. Beyond providing clean water, these water systems protect young children from waterborne illnesses and prevent unnecessary deaths. Moreover, they open doors for young girls and women, granting them the opportunity to attend school and pursue their dreams of education, thus breaking free from the cycle of poverty and hardship.

Stream of Hope projects are more than just the gift of water— They empower the communities that are served.
