Why your support matters

Infant mortality in Ethiopia is among the highest in the world due to waterborne diseases. Many children never reach their fifth birthday, and this is an entirely preventable problem that can easily be solved with clean water solutions.

Unfortunately, even when girls make the trip several miles to gather water, it is often contaminated and there are no filtration systems to prevent waterborne diseases from being passed on to their young brothers and sisters.

Stream of Hope goes beyond building wells. We work with experts who help us define the right water solution for every village, whether it is a well or a different type of Spring expansion system such as diverting water from nearby streams.

Community Empowerment

Stream of Hope projects are more than just the gift of water— They empower the communities that are served.

We provide training to members of each village so they can maintain their new water system themselves. This provides pride of ownership and Sense of responsibility for the community. The villages not only help to build the water system, but they are trained to maintain it.

When a village has access to clean water, the entire community benefits. Please consider being part of the solution by supporting our mission to provide clean water and proper sanitation to needy Ethiopian Villages, “One Village at a Time!”
